Welcome

I make an individual range of functional stoneware and porcelain ceramics, both thrown on the wheel and hand built. I combine strong tactile shapes with silky glazes – black, white and soft greys with accents of re-cycled blue glass reminiscent of Rock Pools, fired to 1260 degrees C in an electric kiln.

I work in my studio in Barnet and combine this with
part-time teaching of ceramics, drawing and print making
at West Herts College. I also run workshops in ceramics
and life drawing.

I studied ceramics and silversmithing at Camberwell
School of Art in the ‘70’s when tutors equalled the number
of students. There were seven in my year group.
This course provided many opportunities and a strong practical work ethic. Tutors were very inspirational and
I will always have fond memories of Colin Pearson
and Ian Godfrey who were so encouraging.
